A message from Fourfront Group’s Chief Executive Gary Chandler
‘’Through the various hospice refurbishments that the Group has undertaken, many of us has seen first-hand the incredible work and support that Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides to so many individuals. This has been the driver for us to continue to support and fundraise for this charity for the past 11 years.
Giving back to the community is ingrained in our office culture, we give each team member three days off a year to do charity work, many of which choose to dedicate these days to Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. I am proud to work alongside each and every individual at Fourfront Group who has participated in a challenge over the years, whether it be a sky dive, a 40 mile walk or an office bake off competition, this has been a real team effort to reach the half million-mark. Here’s to raising a million.”

“Volunteering puts you in a situation where you get a better sense of how things might be more difficult for others. I think it builds a sense of empathy, as well as an appreciation for what you have. Team collaboration is powerful and working together outside of the usual day-to-day can strengthen team bonds.”

Osborne
Leading public construction and solutions company Osborne are one of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices charity partners and have raised to date, a fantastic £39,000.
In June 2019, Osborne held a charity golf day, in less than ideal conditions. Torrential rain, combined with a loss of water to large parts of West London, might have been enough to dampen spirits, but they defied the odds to raise a truly amazing £21,000 on the day, to add to their already impressive fundraising total.
Chris Hickman, a Senior Project Manager at Osborne said “There are moments in life where you can proudly say, ‘that was a great moment’. For me, it was announcing that in the last 18 months, we had raised £39,000 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. I am extremely proud of this fact and I can’t thank our people and supply chain enough for their continued support and generosity”.
The money is being raised in order to build a new music cabin at Christopher’s Hospice. Currently the music room only has space for one child at a time to receive music therapy, limiting who can have time in there. Osborne have taken the project to their hearts – as well as raising the necessary capital, they are providing their construction expertise and experience to ensure the new building will be a very special addition to our hospice – we cannot wait to see it develop.
Osborne also generously supported our first ever Stadium Challenge event, by organising a gigantic banner that was displayed by Twickenham station promoting our event to thousands of commuters and local residents. And they have also given us 100 brand new Hi-Vis jackets to be used by the charity at our various events throughout the year.
