The Spring sunshine shone down on our capital city and our triumphant team of runners as they took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday 24th March.
The #Shootingstar team of 36 who have raised an amazing £7,000 to date, were made up of loyal challenge supporters, some first time half marathoners and some of our London Marathon 2019 team who are in preparation for the big day next month.
The London Landmarks Half Marathon, now in its second year, is a closed road event, through central London run and is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster.
Our runners joined the 13,00 participants to pound the streets of London, being treated to a wealth of cultural landmarks and heritage sights all bathed in glorious sunshine.
They were encouraged on by a dedicated cheer squad of Challenge Events team and Volunteers as they raced through the final miles by Embankment, before reaching the finish line at Downing Street to receive their medals and huge congratulations!
Loren Ludlow, Challenge Events Fundraiser said, “It was great to see our runners amazing efforts and smiles as they took on London Landmarks this weekend, and raising such a huge amount of money for us! It was such a great atmosphere which was made even better with the lovely weather. Everyone who takes part in any challenge in support of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices make such a difference to the children with life-limiting conditions, and their families – and we can’t thank them enough!”
