A magical day with beloved Snow Queen, Elsa
Just like Elsa, from the Disney hit, Frozen, the cold didn’t bother anyone in any way to attend our February drop-in at Shooting Star House in Hampton.
The Snow Queen herself was able to join us for the Disney-themed event, spreading magic, cheer, and love, including warm hugs, to children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families.
We had an array of different crafts for parents, siblings, and children to get involved with, including making slime, key rings, watercolour painting, and creating fairy doors. They even got to decorate tiaras, to become ice royalty, just like Elsa.
There were also lots of sensory elements, including fake snow, water, and ice play.
Elsa then couldn’t hold it back anymore and sang for everyone, sharing her microphone with some of our supported and bereaved siblings and supported children as well as dancing with them.
“It was incredibly special to see our supported and bereaved families brought together by the magic of Elsa,” said Hannah Pickup, Shooting Star Children’s Hospices Events Assistant.
“Children and adults got stuck into the range of craft and sensory activities. There was something for the whole family, and everyone had a smile on their face.”
Before families went home with their creations, they were able to leave with something from our exciting Disney giveaway table, which consisted of toys, accessories, and DVDs.
Thank you to everyone who made this day possible for our families.
