An insightful Business Breakfast
On Tuesday 21 April, we welcomed 24 people from 18 different companies at Christopher’s, our Guildford hospice, for an insightful morning of networking, talks, tours and making a difference.
The Business Breakfast started with an opportunity to catch up and connect with other attendees at the event and meet some of our Shooting Star team face-to-face. We had an incredible turn out, from long-term corporate partners to new supporters for 2026, all of whom were able to indulge in a delectable spread of baked goods and breakfast treats, kindly prepared by our in-house catering team. Community is at the heart of Shooting Star, so we love being able to create events where businesses who share a common goal can come together, make connections and exchange creative fundraising ideas.
Our supporters then gathered to listen to a series of impactful talks from our Chief Executive, Paul Farthing, and members of our Family Support team. Hearing about key aspects of our services, such as memory making, not only allows supporters to learn more about the vital work we do, but helps demonstrate why their support is needed.
Members of the Shooting Star team then took attendees on a tour of the hospice, visiting our hydrotherapy pool, music therapy studio and willow suites. It was amazing for our business partners to see the impact that their support has had first-hand, and hear from members of our team about the importance of these facilities for our supported and bereaved families.
