Shooting Star win prestigious title at Charity Today Awards
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is honoured to share that we have won the UK Charity of the Year Award at the Charity Today Awards 2024.
These awards celebrate the achievements and contributions of charities, businesses, and individuals across the United Kingdom, with the aim of inspiring people to get involved and make a positive difference in their communities.
The UK Charity of the Year award recognises the high-quality wrap-around care we provide to support families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or who have been bereaved, across Surrey, south-west London and north-west London.
This award entry required us to demonstrate how we have made a significant and positive impact on our mission, to showcase how we operate with transparency in our financial practices, and how we show creativity and innovation in addressing challenges.
Members of our Care team, Fundraising team and Comms team attended the ceremony, which was held at The Bull Hotel in Peterborough on Wednesday 16 October.
Paul Farthing, Chief Executive at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices said, “At Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, every member of the team plays a vital role in delivering care and support for children, young people and their families. This award is tribute to their hard work, dedication and professionalism, and everyone should feel hugely proud of the difference they make every day to the lives of those who use our services.”
