Will you take on this Endless Sea of Sand?
Experience the land, the people and the wildlife on this unforgettable, five-day trek across Morocco’s forbidding landscape. Take on 100km of sandy steps, punctuated by peaks, gorges, dunes and oases, sleeping under Africa’s starry skies. Battling high temperatures in the day and cold temperatures at night, basic facilities for surviving in the desert and trekking long distances over hard, rocky terrain and sand, this challenge is one of a kind and completely worthwhile.
Although tough, your efforts will be rewarded by impressive vistas, dramatic scenery and an immense sense of achievement. Most importantly, each step you take will be supporting families with a baby, child or young-person with a life-limited condition, or have been bereaved, across west London and Surrey.
Challenge Overview:
- Dates: 6th – 13th November (other dates available)
- Meeting/Departure Point: London
- Duration: 8 days
- Trekking: 5 days (approx. 100km)
- Accommodation: 2 nights in hotels, 5 nights camping
- Challenge level: challenging, training is highly encouraged
- Support: full support and guidance from the Charity Challenge and Shooting Star Teams

Sahara Desert Trek FAQs
Yes, the more the merrier! However, each person will need to sign up separately and reach their own individual fundraising goal.
Return flights from London to Ouarzazate, via Casablanca, are included. You must make your own arrangements to and from the London airport.
Yes, 7 nights of accommodation are included.

We will be walking 20-30km each day. We will walk a total of 100km.
No, you must provide your own travel insurance.
For UK passport holders, no visa is required. You must have at least six months to run on your passport from the end of the challenge.
