It’s big, it’s bold, it’s gutsy. Superhero Tri is part of the Superhero Series, the UK’s one and only disability sports series for the Everyday Superhero!

The Superhero Tri is a fun challenge, which is fully inclusive and designed with assisted athletes in mind. You don’t need to worry about cut-off times or equipment restrictions.

For this sporting challenge, you can either fly solo or team up with family and friends to do as much or as little as you wish, with as much or as little support as you need. If you want flippers or floats in the water or need to use your powerchair, that is absolutely possible. You can also tow your Superhero around the entire course in the worlds first Sidekick Tri. In fact, as far as we’re concerned, anything goes!

Why take part in the Superheroes Tri?

The Superheroes Tri is just part of this fantastic day out. Set in 450 acres of spectacular park land, everyone at this unique event is in for a real treat, with refreshments and exhibits in the event village for Superheroes and spectators alike.

“One of my priorities was to offer mass-participation events where Superheroes can use any type of equipment (or gadgets and gizmos as we like to call them) they need to complete the course, from adaptive bikes and powerchairs to race runners and baby buggies. I also love the idea of creating a series where people with all kinds of disabilities can feel confident that they’ll come together with like-minded individuals and crucially, feel in the majority rather than the minority.” Sophie Warner, Superhero Series Founder

We would never have dreamt that we could take part in a sporting event like this. Liam’s disability is so profound that lots of doors are closed to us, and as he gets bigger our world starts to shrink a little more. But to take part in a special triathlon is just such an amazing opportunity. We couldn’t miss out on the chance to achieve the unthinkable! We know it’s going to be hard work on the day but at the same time it’s going to be beyond awesome for our family. We really hope some of the other families supported by the children’s hospice come and join us for what promises to be a day of both mayhem and making priceless memories.
