A big thank you to D&G Group
D&G Group has been a corporate partner of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices since 2007. Over the years they have supported us with a range of events and challenges, including holding the Test Match and Comeback Ball to taking on the London Marathon and more.
They first began fundraising for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices in 2007 when David Nash selected us as his charity for his Middlesex Cricket testimonial year. Since then, David, Glen and their team have taken on events such as the London Marathon, bike rides, The Nuts challenge and every year organised a huge, themed charity dinner, with the aim to raise as much as they can for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. The Indian Summer Ball, was their most recent event held in October at Battersea Evolution. There were over 450 guests who were treated to a champagne reception, three-course meal, live entertainment, a sports Q&A and danced until late with an incredible DJ set from DJ Luck and MC Neat.
We are absolutely thrilled that thanks to the generous donations and auction bids on the night the event raised £99,000 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and smashed D&G Group through the £500,000 fundraising milestone as they’ve now raised a staggering £560,000 for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
As a thank you for all their help and support in raising funds for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, which goes towards us supporting babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, we wanted to invite them to the hospice and show our appreciation.
D&G group partners returned to Christopher’s, our Guildford hospice, to see all the work that is being done to support children and families. They were given a tour and shown our services including the hydrotherapy pool, sensory room, soft play area and more. Paul Farthing, our Chief Executive, also joined them to present the wonderful frame to commemorate and thank them for their support.
Alex Rennie, Corporate Relationship Manager, said “Our sincere thanks to D&G Group for their incredible fundraising efforts over the years, their donations now total £561,000 and counting. To have smashed through the £500,000 milestone is a phenomenal achievement and shows their continued commitment and dedication to raising both funds and awareness for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.”
