All was well at our recent drop-in session

At our latest wellness drop-in session, we offered a calming space for families to come together, relax and enjoy our facilities. Wellness plays a vital role in our everyday lives, influencing many aspects of our well-being. For example, physical wellness allows us to move without discomfort, making even the simplest daily tasks more manageable. Equally important is emotional wellness, which supports us in processing complex feelings such as grief, fear and anxiety, while also encouraging moments of peace, joy and acceptance. Social wellness, meanwhile, nurtures connections and offers families a supportive community to rely on.
The event saw 30 attendees, including in-house supported young people and staff. We were delighted to have our fantastic yoga instructor, Mary, who led small group sessions open to all the family. A masseuse from the Community Massage Project and our volunteer hairdresser, Elissa, were on hand to provide relaxation treatments and pampering for our families. Additionally, we hosted vision board making, clay crafts, and smoothie-making activities to nurture creativity and well-being.
It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to unwind, connect, and focus on their wellness.
Hannah Pickup, Events Assistant, commented: “We had a beautiful morning at Christopher’s for our wellness drop in. There was something for everyone – crafts, yoga, massages and a hairdresser. The activities allowed parents to decompress and entertained children with sensory elements to engage a variety of needs. Thank you so much to Mary, our lovely yoga teacher, Debbie and all at Community Massage Project, and Elissa, who was our fabulous volunteer hairdresser.”
