Burbeck Interiors transform family flats
Since 2021, Burbeck Interiors have been an extraordinary partner to Shooting Star. What began as a single act of support, holding a bake sale in aid of us, has grown into a long‑standing relationship, working together to help improve the experience of the children and families we care for at our sites. Their team has continuously stepped forward, rolling up their sleeves, putting their professional skills to use, and helping to transform our hospice spaces into warm, uplifting environments that truly make a difference.
From office fundraising to staff taking on incredible challenges like the London Marathon, Burbeck Interiors have consistently championed our cause. Their commitment has helped raise vital funds that support our care services, counselling work, and family support programmes.

One of the most impactful aspects of Burbeck’s support has been their pro bono work across our hospices. With their design expertise and thoughtful approach, they’ve helped us reimagine several important spaces that families rely on during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. In 2024, they renovated two of our counselling spaces at Shooting Star House in Hampton, and they transformed one of our family flats at Christopher’s, our Guildford based hospice, into two welcoming counselling rooms, creating quiet, calming places where families can seek support and reflect with privacy and comfort.

Most recently, Burbeck have been revitalising three family flats at Christopher’s, giving families staying with us somewhere peaceful, modern, and homely to rest during prolonged stays. These makeovers aren’t just visual upgrades, they create the emotional environment families need when navigating complex feelings, uncertainty, and loss.
We’re honoured to shine a light on all they have done, and continue to do, for our hospices. Their contributions, both practical and emotional, have directly supported the wellbeing of hundreds of families, and their designs will continue to make a difference for years to come.

Alex Willcocks at Burbeck Interiors shared, “Burbeck Interiors are privileged to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile and meaningful project for Shooting Star. We were asked to support in the makeover of three family flats at Christophers House, which gave our stylists an opportunity to help create a warm, homely, and comforting space for the families who will be using them at a time that matters most.
This project reflects what we stand for at Burbeck, thoughtful design, collaboration and creating spaces that support the people that use them. We are proud to continue supporting the incredible and invaluable work of Shooting Star and the vital care they provide to children and their families.”
Ellie Constable, Corporate Relationship Manager said, “The transformation of our family flats has surpassed anything we could have hoped for. Families and staff are already feeling the impact of these warm, thoughtfully designed spaces, which will offer comfort during the incredibly challenging times. Working with Burbeck Interiors on this project has been such a privilege – their care, creativity and commitment shine through in every detail.”
