An inspiring Business Breakfast 2023
On a bright April morning we welcomed companies and partners to our third Business Breakfast and the second one held at Christopher’s. It was lovely to be able to invite companies to Christopher’s to show them what their support does and all the incredible work Shooting Star Children’s Hospices do with families.
At the early morning event, attendees were welcomed by Paul Farthing, our Chief Executive, who shared a little bit more about our new strategy and how we plan to enhance our bereavement support for families in the future. This was followed by a Q&A session with one of our corporate supporters whose company took on the Three Peak Challenge last year, and who will be supporting us going forward, inspired by the support we give families. The corporate partner attendee shared some of the challenges and successes when putting together this sort of event, and how they were able to engage their staff and customers with their fundraising.
One partner shared their gratitude saying “Really enjoyed listening to your Chief Executive and hearing about Tom’s experiences with fundraising. Our company are now looking into the 3 Peaks Challenge to include clients, which we hadn’t thought of involving before.”
Despite normal traffic challenges, there were 24 attendees from 15 separate companies! The majority of these were new to Christopher’s, and those more established hadn’t had the opportunity for a tour previously.
The companies left Christopher’s inspired by the charity and are now even more determined to raise more to support the work we do. One partner added ‘Thank you so much for the breakfast briefing this morning and the tour of your wonderful hospice albeit rather emotional at times.’
These events are great opportunities for established and new partners to get to know a little bit more about Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and how we support families, and to share ideas with each other about how they can support in the future.
