Magical ice skating at Hampton Court Palace

Over two nights, supported and bereaved families came together to celebrate the start of the Christmas season by attending a magical ice skating experience at Hampton Court Palace. The scene was picture-perfect, with a stunning Christmas tree in the centre of the rink, right in front of the historic palace. Families got involved on the ice, with wheelchairs, penguins and skates all zooming around, and while there were a few falls along the way, everyone had a smile on their face!

After skating, families warmed up with hot drinks and snack platters in the café, providing a chance to socialise with staff, volunteers and old friends – and to make new ones. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to come together and share the Christmas spirit – a perfect way to start off the festive celebrations!

This special ice skating experience was made possible thanks to generous sponsors. Both ice skating sessions were donated by Arena Events and families were treated to a delicious buffet thank to a donation from Novacyt and a grant from Morrisons Making Memories.

It was truly a memorable way to kick off the Christmas season, bringing smiles, warmth and connection to all who attended.
