Shooting Star House is now in ULEZ
From Tuesday 29 August the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will extend to cover the majority of London, including Shooting Star House in Hampton. You can find out more about about ULEZ and where it covers on the Transport for London website.
Information for supported families
If you are travelling to Shooting Star House you will need to check whether your vehicle is compliant and therefore is exempt from the ULEZ charge. To check your vehicle you can enter your registration number on the Transport for London vehicle checker.
If you need to pay the charge in order to visit us you will need to register on the TfL website and pay in advance or register for Auto Pay.
Vehicles that are adapted for wheelchair users or registered with the DVLA as having a ‘disabled’ or ‘disabled passenger vehicle’ tax class do not have to pay the ULEZ charge until 24 October 2027. The Transport for London website has a useful page outlining discounts and exemptions including information on vehicles for disabled people. You may need to register your vehicle online to qualify for exemptions, please check the TfL website.
To help with the transition to this new system, if your vehicle is non-compliant and no exemptions are applicable we can reimburse you for the ULEZ charge (£12.50) for journeys to visit Shooting Star House between 29 August and 31 October 2023. We cannot pay the ULEZ charge for you, or pay it in advance, but if you fill in a form on arrival at Shooting Star House (we will need your car’s registration number in order to track the charge) and give us your bank details, we can refund the charge to you. Forms are available from reception at Shooting Star House.
