Super Santa cycle

Njinga Santa Cycle To SSH Dec 2022

Forget the sleigh, it was all about the bikes on Saturday 3 December, as 150 super santa cyclists took part in the 10th annual Njinga Cycling event.

The free-to-join cycle 17km cycle ride set off from Richmond and headed towards our Hampton hospice, Shooting Star House, to deliver some gifts for the children we support.

The streets, and then our hospice garden, were awash with Santa’s, with a few elves and reindeers thrown into the mix. After dropping off their gifts, the cyclists had a well deserved rest in the garden, enjoyed a warming drink and were entertained by Epsom & Ewell Brass Band, playing some classic Christmas carols, with all the riders and some supported families joined in to sing-a-long.

“We are truly grateful to Njinga Cycling for organising their 10th Annual Santa Cycle to Shooting Star House on 3rd December.  150 Santa’s on bikes was an amazing sight and the children, families and staff had a wonderful time singing carols and spreading the Christmas cheer.  Thank you Njinga for the fantastic toys you bought with you and for raising over £7,000!”

Jane De Lay, Head of Community Engagement
