On Monday 16th December there was some Christmas cheer, yummy treats and of course plenty of presents as some families supported by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices were treated to a special Christmas Afternoon Tea at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

The eight families were also joined by Father Christmas who took time out of his busy schedule to sit next to a beautiful real Christmas tree in a big red chair (fit for Father Christmas of course!) to meet the supported children and their siblings and hand out some presents.

The Royal Lancaster ensured no expense was spared, creating a stunning array of cocktails, sandwiches and beautifully hand-crafted Christmas cakes for the families to enjoy.

There was also some fun arts and crafts, including drawing, paper chains, board games and lots of glitter for the families to get stuck into!

Karen Sugarman, Executive Vice-President of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices said, “We are so grateful to The Royal Lancaster for ensuring the Christmas celebrations were so special for the families. They ensured that each family received the very best service from their staff. It was wonderful to see the children’s faces when Father Christmas made a surprise visit. It is always a privilege to celebrate Christmas with the families we support.”
